Who is Sos style?
Sos style offers a simple process to create outfits for any occasion from your own closet. With just a few clicks, you can effortlessly expand your wardrobe options and discover new outfit combinations you never thought possible.
Project challenges
Sos-style had a simple web platform where people could upload they wardrobes and stylists would send e-mails with best recommendation sets. Unfortunately system was not user friendly and it was difficult to add new features, so Sos-style decided to create an app.
1. Bringing the vision to life. SOS style needed UX and UI expertise to plot out and incorporate each element of the workflow to ensure users could manage to complete they tasks and keep engaged
2. Simplicity as usp. Wanting to distil their core USP to simple usability, without the bloated features, SOS style needed a solution that would offer a vastly improved features over competitors
3. Brand look and feel. SOS style was an early-stage concept without brand identity, so needed guidelines for the colours, fonts to give the platform its unique look
Strategy and Solutions
1. Information Architecture.
Leveraging comprehensive market research, in-depth discussions were held to identify key features and growth avenues. I then meticulously crafted the product's information architecture, ensuring seamless integration of these features.
2. Wireframing.
The previous method of outfit generation via Photoshop was inconsistent. To address this, I designed a versatile template that maintained visual appeal, focusing on optimal clothing item placement and overlay spacing for cohesive aesthetics.
3. Prototyping.
Recognizing the importance of user testing, I developed a prototype to test the app's architecture and logic. This was shared with team members for feedback, ensuring the design met user needs effectively.
4. Outfit Generator.
We brainstormed an outfit generation concept allowing users to select specific wardrobe items. The system generates various combinations, which users can add to personal collections or explore further suggestions.
5. Outfit Planner.
To encourage regular app usage, we introduced a calendar feature for outfit planning. Users can assign outfit combinations to specific days, enhancing the app’s utility.
6. SOS Services.
To enhance credibility, I incorporated testimonials in service descriptions, showcasing user experiences. Given the manual effort in curating high-quality outfits, I included a timer feature to communicate expected delivery times effectively.
